still moving. . . .
It's amazing — when you have a new place, and as you're moving things from the old place to the new, it takes about a day to get 50% done, and another day to get 75% done, and another day to get 85% done, and so on. . . .

I'm left with an old smelly apartment full of all those awkward things — desk lamps, plants, wall pictures — that don't fit into any kind of container well.

The unpacking effort is coming along a little better. Tuesday ended with a stack of empty boxes all the way up to the ceiling, in two columns. There's something satisfying about that, for sure.

I'm finding that a loft apartment definitely poses a challenge in terms of storage, though. I have stacks of papers, books, clothes, and other things sitting around everywhere, with no good solution in sight. One trip to the Container Store only had a moderate impact on the problem.

Oh well. The 5 minute trip to work and the great view of downtown are still making any other difficulties worthwhile.

Incidentally, my phone line is finally setup again (it was working when I moved in, and then was out for 3 days as they were moving things over to my name). The temptation to drag the computer home and work from there after lunch is overwhelming.
