Snowstorm
It has been raining off and on all day today, leading to some unseasonably dark and cool weather (cool meaning 80 degrees, but this is Dallas, remember). Looking outside, I couldn't help but get the impression a huge snowfall could begin any moment.
Wishful thinking, I suppose.
Regardless, the sensation was still so strong after work, I decided to play a little game. Turning the car air conditioner as cool as it would go, I aimed it at the windows and floor, so that I couldn't feel it blowing directly on me, and so that the heat coming through the windshield would be neutralized. (Yes, you've probably figured out what I'm up to, and yes, I admit it's a little psychotic, but if you've ever endured a Texas summer, you understand.)
I started thinking to myself, "Wow, I wonder if it will snow. It's pretty cold out. I just want to get home and curl up on the couch with a blanket — that'd be nice. Look at those wintery clouds," and so on and so forth.
I nearly had myself convinced, too, until I got home, opened the car door, and was hit by a blast of 80 degree air.
More importantly, though, for just a split second, I expected to start shivering instead.
