Fabuleux destin
11-04-2001 11:30am — I awake from a very strange dream about living life as a ghost who, unable to join my other deceased counterparts, secures a job, apartment, and set of friendships with the living world. Stay tuned to the dreams section for a complete write-up.
11-04-2001 11:45am — After a quick shower, I check my email to find a message from a girl friend of mine, saying that a sneak preview of Amelie is showing Monday night at the Inwood Theater, with instructions on where to receive a pass.
11-04-2001 12:08pm — I call my friend from the parking lot of the video store asking what time she wants to meet me Monday so I can cash in on this free pass for two. "I barely even hit send on the email yet!" she exclaims.
11-05-2001 8:58am — I sit in the office of my new boss for our weekly 9am Monday morning status meeting. That in itself isn't all that interesting, but it pretty much sums up my work day today in terms of interesting goings on.
11-05-2001 5:45pm — Cantonese fried noodles at the Lovers Egg Roll (named for the street it's on, not for any clientele stipulations or claimed effects of their food).
11-05-2001 6:45pm — I stand in line with my friend waiting for the movie. Before this point I was one of about 4 men total in a line of approximately 75 people, and I was starting to get a little concerned about the gender-appeal of the film.
11-05-2001 9:45pm — sitting with my friend at the gelaterie across the street from the movie theater, talking about how much fun a film this was, the relative merits of several different flavors of gelato (including the fact that I have a penchant for ordering raspberry, despite the fact that I'm disappointed every time, as opposed to the other flavors which are always much better than I would have expected), and the nature of love as inspired by the film. Do people have a soulmate, or several, or anyone they're willing to hook up with and make the right accommodations? In any of those cases, is love at first sight possible, or does it take some time to grow, or is a lengthy interview process a requirement? Answers follow another day.
