Reasons why
. . . Matt is a sappy fool. I cry when:

  • Natalie Portman tap dances for Zach Braff in Garden State.
  • Kate Hudson dances alone on an empty stage in Almost Famous.
  • Audrey Tatou skips stones on the canal in Amelie.
  • Salvatore watches the reel of film at the end of Cinema Paradiso.
  • Charlotte tells Wilbur the pig she will die soon in Charlotte's Web.

  • All but the pig and spider thing make me sort of embarrassed, almost. There's no shame in crying over Charlotte, though. That movie is damn sad.

    * * *

    The rain is back. A lot. We've had floods today in some parts of the city.

    Last week, on the other hand, the BC Government issued a public warning about being naked in sub-zero weather, which seems obvious to me, but apparently doesn't come so naturally to other people.

    The warm weather and rain is actually sort of a nice break from the cold, except when I'm all wet.
