Music and Light
It only took four months (well, three months if you only count the time I've been in my apartment) but my piano keyboard is finally set up.

I've been missing it.

Now I just have to figure out a way to connect it to the computer for recordings from way up there.

The one casualty of the endeavor is the Christmas lights which ring the base of my loft upstairs area. As I was rearranging things to make room for the keyboard, the stand wobbled and fell, and shattered one of the bulbs in the string, causing them all to go dark. I had a replacement, and put it into the empty spot, but apparently some kind of irreparable damage was done to the socket as well as the bulb, because it still doesn't work.

I still have a couple of other strands in a box somewhere, so one day if I'm feeling motivated I can switch out the whole thing, but I don't think that will be today. Maybe mid-February is time to take the Christmas lights down anyway, but I sitll like them. Perhaps I could switch them out with a color other than green (white, maybe?) so that they can be more universally festive.

I took down the Favorites link from the site. The change wasn't a direct result of the feedback I got in the comments the other day, but it did make me realize that I didn't think I even had it still up there, for one thing (it's only my website — you don't expect me to read it, right?), but even so, and possibly consequently, the most recent entry I'd tossed over there was from 2003. It felt a little dated.

I still can't believe I've had the site up since 2001. That's a long time to write random things about oneself.
