Americanized
Overheard at a Chilean restaurant on Kingsway:
College Student from Chile: It's funny. When I lived in Chile, there were all these people I thought were Americans. They were North American, so they were just American. Then I come to Canada and I find out he's Canadian, she's Canadian. It's funny. But it still doesn't seem like so many. Are there any famous Canadian TV personalities?
College Student from Canada: Canadian TV personalities? No, we don't really have any. [Thinks about it for a minute.] I mean, yes, I guess there are, but they too often seem to become famous in the US, and, before you know it, sure they're famous everywhere, but they've kind of become Americanized, so I don't think that counts.
